Treffer: Language Programmes Evaluation. Interim Report
Weitere Informationen
This report presents the interim findings from an evaluation of a number of the Department for Education's (DfE) Language Programmes which support Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) provision in schools in England: the Language Hub programme; the Language Assistants programme run by the British Council; the UK German Connection (UKGC); and the German Promotion Project (GPP). The evaluation was conducted (and commissioned) in the context of a decrease in the uptake of languages at GCSE level, especially among disadvantaged pupils. The Language Hub programme and the British Council's Language Assistants programme were the primary focuses of the evaluation. A secondary focus was the work of UKGC and the GPP project led by the Goethe-Institut. The evaluation's original aim was to understand how well the 4 initiatives (with particular emphasis on the Language Hub and Language Assistants programmes) have been implemented, how well they are running and their impact on teachers, Language Assistants, schools and pupils. This report discusses the evaluation findings at the end of the first year. [This report was also authored by National Institute for Economic and Social Research.]
