A PC-TI-SPEECH system has been set up by the author of this thesis on the IBM PC/AT compatible computer. The basic functions of the system are as follows: data acquisition, internal signal synthesization, signal processing and speech recognition. The system is built up by a PC, TI-Speech Hardware kit, MADCAP software package,TI-Speech Tool kit. This thesis covers the setup, evaluation and operations of the complete PC-TI-SPEECH system, development of the system for further applications, and operations of running some evaluation programs generated by doing this thesis.
