This article briefly discusses the pros and cons of heuristics used to program library websites and then gives an in-depth explanation of an alternate option that uses a criteria catalog, called "BibEval". The institution that has been developing BibEval, The Swiss Institute for Information Research (SII) is calling the project "E-lib.ch: Swiss Electronic Library." The author goes on to explain the structure of BibEval, as well as the different forms it is available in, and its potential uses.
