Integrative oncology (IO) programmes are increasingly becoming the standard of care in cancer treatment, driven by growing evidence of their efficacy and benefits for patients. To provide evidence-based, patient-centred care to both cancer patients and survivors in a systematic way requires specialised knowledge and planning. The Society for Integrative Oncology moved to address these gaps in knowledge by offering a preconference workshop at its 2024 Annual International Conference, intended to equip global IO programme leaders and administrators with essential tools for building and maintaining successful programmes. This article outlines key recommendations and critical steps for those launching new IO programmes and provides guidance for revitalising existing ones. It builds on the clinical expertise shared previously to describe the management and logistical essentials for programme establishment and sustainability.
